Résumé

Le programme API n°372 Polar View : the Polar Information Centre reprend la structure du centre Polar View. Polar View est un service d'observation de la Terre (Earth Observation - EO) par satellites de télédétection, concentré sur l'Arctique et l'Antarctique. Polar View est soutenu par l'Agence Spatiale Européenne (ESA) et la Commission Européenne avec la participation de l'Agence Spatiale Canadienne. Il promeut l'utilisation des satellites pour le bien public, en appui des politiques publiques dans les domaines du développement économique durable, de la sécurité maritime et de l'environnement. L'équipe du Polar View est constituée de compagnies, d'agences gouvernementales et d'instituts de recherche d'Europe et du Canada. L'activité proposée établira sur le réseau Polar View une infrastructure pour fournir un point d'accès unique à l'information "glaciaire" pour les chercheurs de l'API.

Abstract

IPY project n°372 Polar View : The Polar Information Centre purchase the framework also begun. Polar View is an earth observation (EO) or satellite remote-sensing program, focused on both the Arctic and the Antarctic. Polar View is supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Commission with participation by the Canadian Space Agency. It promotes the utilization of satellites for public good and in support of public policy in the areas of sustainable economic development, marine safety, and environment. The Polar View Team consists of companies, government agencies and research institutes across Europe and Canada. The proposed activity will build on the Polar View network an infrastructure to develop a single point of access to ice-related information for IPY investigators.
